With each experience comes a feeling, feeling of knowing more, feeling of something already existing but unknown to the self. And when I talk about experience, I am talking about the journey of food from your very own plate to your mouth and then taste of it touching your soul; Journey towards fitness: when achieving that target which you once thought was impossible but the very target of completing 50 Pushups. What do you achieve at the end of it? satisfaction, yes satisfaction of and to the soul. And not to forget journey of TRAVEL: that movement of exploring a new place, a new sight with a wide open mouth and glittering eyes, admiring nature’s beauty and creativity, finding your spot in the middle of nowhere.
All these experiences are just not mere experiences, each experience touches you to the core and that core is YOU and when I say YOU I mean your very own SOUL. Hence,” ROADS TO SOUL – A STEP CLOSER TO YOUR SELF WITHIN”
Why do we travel? What is it that travelling brings to you? People travel to find peace, adventure, to some it’s a passion the zeal which they feel when they find a new place while wandering yet to some it’s a feeling of total bliss, total excitement.
Hum jar he hai , hum nai jar he…. Ohooo its too late to make a plan now we have to leave today evening .. common lets join others, let us surprise them. R u sure? Yes absolutely.. ok then , tickets booked and msg sent – we are also joining you guys.. yieeppee.
I needed this trip to clear the clutter in my mind. There we were at Majnu ka Tilla (Place to board the bus), the timings of the bus was 8 PM and there we were bhaiya kab tak aygi bus … aree madam bas ane wali hai .. tussi tension na lo appa tohnu das dene aa jado bas avangi .
We boarded the bus at 9 PM and took off for our much awaited and excited journey. The best part about Kasol bus journey is the crowd you get in bus – all youngsters, you can play loud music and have a good gala time with no uncle aunty shouting at you – can you please sleep now?
Morning we were awake and thanks to back seats allmost all of my friends started having motion sickness and started throwing up and I was lost in my own thoughts.. what worse can happen when your bus breaks down twice.
The only good part about our bus journey was meeting new people and making friends ..P.S 1-2 cute guys too ;P. We reached our destination at 3 PM, yup that’s right it took us 18 hrs. We got down at Jari; a small village , 7Km before Kasol.
We had already made our reservations at Parvati Cottage a beautiful place resting right next to the Parvati River. You need 20 -25 mins to trek down in order to reach this place.
There’s a trail constructed, having a light luggage and comfortable sports shoes is advisable. Before you reach the place, you need to cross the bridge and voila a small cozy place away from the town hustle.
If you are planning for night party, it’s better you get your stuff from the market at Jari and then head for the cottage down, coz no point wasting 1 hr of too n fro.
We had a nice relaxing evening along with music and bonfire plus added masala was guys doing twirking 😉 … a comfortable sleep with early meal and some quite time near the river.. oh mann I can sit next to Parvati river for hours and be submerged in its sound and comfort.
We took local transport again a means to meet new people, like I mentioned earlier Kasol is full of young crowd from across India. Better not miss out an opportunity.
Anyways, we took local transport for Manikaran which took 10/- rs I guess on the contrary a taxi that was charging us some 600/- rs for manikaran too n fro trip. Manikaran was good , it’ll take you 1 hr there exploring the place and having langar Prasad.
On our way back we preferred walking down till Kasol market and on our way we clicked some fun and group pics. Kasol has some good bakeries and eatery café’s , find yours and enjoy the meal.
Few try outs german bakery, moonlight café, evergreen cafe…. If you are interested for some hippie look, you can try out hair breading and mind you it looks super cool.
Well I got 2 done and I encouraged 2 more to get it done :P. Along with all this Kasol grows on you and you start contemplating things, maybe it’s the place or the people or the air filled with marijuana fumes 😀 :D, who knows but the feeling is really something like finding your lost self.
